Fibroblast Skin Tightening

by | Sep 21, 2021 | Uncategorized

Who has wrinkles, fine lines, or scars they wish would just disappear? I think I can speak for most of us when I say how nice it would be to turn the clock back a little and erase a few wrinkles here or a few lines there. If you can relate, let me introduce you to the art of Fibroblast skin tightening.

Fibroblast skin tightening is a non-invasive skin tightening technique that uses a plasma pen to stimulate the fibroblast cells within the body. Fibroblast cells secrete collagen proteins that our body uses to keep our skin looking tight and youthful. Fibroblasting triggers these fibroblast cells to trigger that collagen to the treated area to promote tightening and healing that works with your body’s natural healing and your body’s natural aging process. This new targeted production of collagen causes the skin to tighten, reducing or completely removing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, large pores, and scars. When done correctly, and also maintained correctly, treated fibroblast areas can last anywhere from 3-5 years. The amount of treatments depends on the body’s production of collagen to the area and also how deep the wrinkles or lines are, but results can almost always be seen with only one session! Fibroblast skin tightening can treat forehead wrinkles, eleven lines, hooded upper eyelids, crow’s feet, under-eye wrinkles and bags, accordion lines, smile lines, loose skin on the cheeks and jowls, smoker lines,  large pores, acne scars, chin wrinkles, loose skin on the neck, chest, arms, stomach, thighs, hands and knees. The plasma pen can also be used to remove skin tags, milia, and raised sunspots as well as plump certain areas to make them look more full without filler or botox like upper and bottom lip and lift the brows.

Now that you know the science behind the treatment, let me explain how a standard service will go and what you can expect before, during, and after. Before any fibroblast treatment can occur, a fifteen-minute consultation must be performed. This can be a virtual consultation or done in person. This consultation determines if you are a candidate for fibroblast, the area or areas you wish to treat, a brief discussion of the treatment and the aftercare, and a discussion of the price of the service. Once we complete the consultation you are able to book your fibroblast treatment/treatments using my usual booking site. At your fibroblast appointment, you can expect a small amount of paperwork and then once in the treatment room, your licensed esthetician and certified fibroblast skin tightening specialist will apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area and cover it with a cling wrap that helps it not dry out as it works on numbing the skin. This numbing cream will sit for approximately 30 minutes before being removed and cleansed. The esthetician will then trace an area using a skin-safe pencil to determine the direction to tighten the skin to get the best results and once the outline is finished with the pencil, you will lay down and then your only next job is to relax, remain still,  and communicate with your esthetician while they perform the service. Some discomfort may be experienced depending on your skin, but for the most part, you shouldn’t feel a thing. The duration of the treatment depends on the area, but you can expect to spend anywhere from 1-3 hours laying down. After your treatment, you will usually immediately see tightening results, and your esthetician will go over your aftercare instructions and explain your mandatory 4 step aftercare kit to you in detail. The aftercare is just as important as the fibroblast treatment itself! You will also see some noticeable brown dots on your treatment area, which will all naturally fall off about 4-10 days after the service. Following your treatment, it is normal to experience some mild discomfort, dryness, itchiness, and inflammation, but this is totally normal and will pass. I normally simply recommend fibroblast clients take a nice long weekend to be inside (away from the sun) for the first couple days after treatment to heal and relax, but fibroblast requires no actual downtime at all. Even though the dots fall off during the first two weeks, healing and tightening of the skin still occur for 10-12 weeks following the fibroblast treatment, at which time you will have your post-fibroblast appointment.

Tighter, more youthful-looking skin doesn’t have to be a thing of the past anymore with Fibroblast skin tightening. Book your 15-minute fibroblast consultation today to see how fibroblast can help you!
